Meet Lorna

Lorna Griggs received her Bachelor Degree in Graphic Arts from University of Miami.

Lorna moved to the Cayman Islands from the United States in the 1980s after living in Aspen, Colorado for twenty years. As a highly portable and versatile medium, well suited to working outdoors, watercolor became the medium of choice for this highly prolific artist, allowing her to capture the shifting effects of light and the bright colors of the Caymanian landscape.

The artist finds painting two contrasting subjects of the Caribbean landscape and the Rocky Mountains both challenging and stimulating. Although much of her work consists of miniatures, she enjoys doing larger work from time to time. Over the years she has exhibited in many shows in Colorado and Grand Cayman. Her paintings are amongst many collections in the Cayman Islands and abroad. Lorna now resides permanently in Colorado.
